Christie’s standing ovation for O-Care rip

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) brought the crowd at a town-hall event to its feet Tuesday after a woman asked him what could be done to lessen the burden of ObamaCare.

“Elect a new president,” Christie quipped.

{mosads}The potential 2016 presidential contender said President Obama was “dead wrong” in his pursuit to overhaul the healthcare industry.

Still, Christie said “folks are better off” because of the Medicaid expansion under ObamaCare.

New Jersey is one of 31 states that have either accepted federal funds for the Medicaid expansion under the president’s healthcare law or worked with the administration to design an expansion that caters to a particular state’s specific needs.


The Medicaid expansion will be a political issue in this year’s midterm elections.

The liberal nonprofit group MoveOn launched a campaign on Monday directly targeting some of the highest-profile Republican governors in the country over their continued opposition to expanding Medicaid under ObamaCare.


Also on Monday, the Republican Governors Association, headed by Christie, released an ad criticizing South Carolina’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen for his support of Medicaid expansion.
