Psych, nursing and rehab facilities to see payment bumps
Federal health officials are preparing to give modest pay increases to several classes of healthcare facilities serving patients in Medicare and Medicaid.
Inpatient psychiatric facilities, skilled nursing facilities and inpatient rehabilitation facilities will each see payment bumps of roughly 2 percent on average next year, according to final rules released Thursday.
{mosads}The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the trio of payment updates in hundreds of pages of regulations that updated policies related to each provider.
In the case of skilled nursing facilities, CMS clarified that certain penalties assessed on centers that do not meet certification requirements can only be used by states with approval from federal health officials.
