Planned Parenthood: ‘Fiorina is lying’

Planned Parenthood is hitting back against GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina over controversial comments she made about undercover anti-abortion-rights videos targeting the group.

“There is no polite way to say this: Carly Fiorina is lying,” Eric Ferrero, a spokesman for Planned Parenthood, wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

“There is no video showing anything like what she claims. It’s just totally false, no matter how many times she repeats it,” he said.

{mosads}Fiorina delivered an impassioned attack against Planned Parenthood during last week’s GOP debate, which is widely credited for lifting her support in national polls.

During her remarks, she claimed that a series of undercover videos targeting Planned Parenthood have shown “a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking, while someone says ‘we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain.’ ”

She then dared President Obama and Hillary Clinton to watch the videos, as the crowd in California roared with applause.

A total of 10 videos, each edited to about 10 minutes long, have been released against Planned Parenthood, though none show the scene that Fiorina described.

Fiorina has ignored criticism by Planned Parenthood supporters — as well as independent fact-checkers — since the debate, standing by her comments. Earlier this week, she released her own counterattack video that includes several graphic images of aborted fetuses.

At a campaign event in South Carolina on Wednesday, she again defended her remarks.

“They say I’m lying about a videotape, but it’s there,” she said, according to reports.
