Dalrymple also approved measures that ban genetic and gender discrimination in abortion and require doctors that perform the procedures to maintain hospital-admitting privileges.
The six-week ban is seen as a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that established abortion rights.
