HHS awards $32 million to help enroll children in Medicaid

{mosads}”Today’s grants will ensure that more children across the nation have access to the quality health care they need,” HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said.

Since 2008, 1.7 million children have gained healthcare coverage through Medicaid and CHIP, the department said.

Sebelius said the push will help enroll people in new coverage options under the healthcare law, including its Medicaid expansion and new marketplaces for private insurance.

“We are drawing from successful children’s health coverage outreach and enrollment efforts to help promote enrollment this fall in Medicaid and the new Health Insurance Marketplace,” she said.
