GOP to continue probe of employer mandate delay
{mosads}Next week, two subpanels of the House Education and the Workforce Committee will convene a joint hearing to hear from parties on both sides of the debate.
No administration official will appear after the head of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) declined an invitation to testify. A spokesperson for the Office of Management and Budget said OIRA had no role in the employer mandate delay.
Several think tank experts and a businessperson will testify instead, according to a committee memo.
The previous two GOP hearings hosted J. Mark Iwry, the deputy assistant secretary for retirement and health policy at the Treasury Department.
Facing several incensed Republican lawmakers, Iwry told the panels that no additional implementation delays have been considered by his department.
