Pelosi: Ball in GOP court on ObamaCare replacement

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Monday that the ball is in the GOP’s court when it comes to replacing ObamaCare, according to reports.

Pelosi didn’t necessarily rule out working with the GOP on replacing President Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement after it is repealed, but said the responsibility to do so will ultimately fall in their lap.

{mosads}”The ball is in their court,” Pelosi said during a Democratic conference call on Monday, according to ABC’s Rick Klein. “You break it, you own it.”

Pelosi also slammed the GOP for seeking to repeal and delay parts of ObamaCare while they come up with a replacement, calling the effort an “act of cowardice.”

“The repeal and delay is an act of cowardice on the part of the Republicans,” Pelosi said, according to another reporter. “This repeal and delay, it doesn’t even have alliteration. It has nothing.”

Pelosi painted any attack on the Affordable Care Act as an assault on Medicare and Medicaid.

Trump pledged during the campaign not to cut Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security, but Senate and House Republicans appear split over whether to tackle entitlement reform in an ObamaCare replacement.

Pelosi reportedly admitted during the conference call that one thing she would have done differently on ObamaCare is “message it in a much stronger way.”
