Poll: Most support higher premiums for smokers

{mosads}Tobacco use and obesity both contribute to increasing healthcare costs. But Gallup said support for penalizing smokers might be higher because more people are overweight than are smokers.

Strong majorities of Republicans and Democrats supported raising premiums on smokers. But Republicans were more supportive of charging more based on weight.
