Study: ObamaCare tax credits to average $2,700
{mosads}People will be eligible if they have incomes between $11,500 and $46,000 as a single person or between $24,000 and $94,000 as a four-person family.
These figures represent 100 to 400 percent of the federal poverty level, the eligibility range mandated under the Affordable Care Act.
In their analysis, the Kaiser Family Foundation said that understanding ObamaCare’s tax credits is crucial to interpreting the projected insurance rates released by some states for the new exchanges.
States like Georgia, Florida and Ohio have predicted that the cost of coverage on the individual and small-group insurance markets will rise sharply as plans expand to encompass ObamaCare’s required benefits.
Federal health officials have disputed the validity of these figures.
The study authors stated Wednesday that premiums “on average will likely be higher in most states,” but that about half (48 percent) of people who currently buy their own insurance will be eligible for tax credits to offset the costs.
