Dems raising funds off House defund-ObamaCare push
{mosads}The emails suggested that supporters donate $3 to the DCCC’s ObamaCare Rapid Response Fund.
House Republican leaders announced their plan Wednesday after abandoning a previous strategy that would foist a defunding vote on the Senate but allow the healthcare law to remain funded in a final spending bill.
That plan was rejected by conservative and Tea Party-affiliated lawmakers who insisted leaders use tougher tactics to defund ObamaCare.
The new continuing resolution (CR) — which excludes money for the Affordable Care Act — will receive a vote on Friday.
President Obama threatened to veto the measure Thursday, and it’s unlikely to gain traction in the Democratic Senate.
Congress must move past its stalemate and pass a CR on or before Sept. 30 in order to avoid a shutdown.
