Poll: Most want Trump to try to make ObamaCare work

A vast majority of Americans want the Trump administration to try to find a way to save ObamaCare, according to a new poll released Tuesday.

The Kaiser Health Tracking Poll found that 75 percent respondents said the current administration “should do what they can” to make the healthcare law functional. 

Only 19 percent of responders said President Trump should do what it can to make the law fail.

{mosads}The desire to make ObamaCare work was particularly strong among Democrats and Independents, with 89 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of Independents urging the administration to make the positive effort. 

A majority of Republicans, however, also favored trying to make ObamaCare work. While 38 percent want the the administration to do what it can to make the law fail, 51 percent want the president and his team to do what they can to make it work.

The poll also found that 64 percent of Americans believe that the GOP’s failure to pass its ObamaCare repeal bill was a good thing.

Fifty-two percent said that they felt “relieved” that Republicans were unable to pass the healthcare bill, and 44 percent felt “happy.”

Just 40 percent described being “disappointed” following the failure of the bill, with 20 percent being “angry.”

The Kaiser Health Tracking Poll surveyed a pool of 1,203 adults between March 28-April 3. The margin of error is 3 percent.
