Budget Committee: House healthcare bill can move to Senate

The House will not be forced to vote again on its healthcare bill. 

The Senate Budget Committee announced Tuesday that the American Health Care Act passed May 4 by the House complies with the Senate reconciliation process and will be able to move to the upper chamber. 

House Republicans initially held off on sending their ObamaCare replacement bill to the Senate in case it failed to meet certain budget rules. 

{mosads}The Budget Committee approval may not matter much, as Senate Republican leaders have said they will be writing their own healthcare bill, though they may crib some ideas from the House bill. 

It’s likely that the Senate will take a more moderate approach by delaying the end of ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion, offering more protections for people with preexisting conditions and beefing up tax credits for low-income and older Americans.
