New York Knicks owner tests positive for coronavirus

James Dolan, owner of the New York Knicks tested positive for coronavirus, the organization’s public relations team announced Saturday.

“He has been in self-isolation and is experiencing little to no symptoms,” the Knicks organization said in a tweet. “He continues to oversee business operations.”

Dolan, 64, owns the Madison Square Garden Company which includes several live venues. He resides in Long Island but it is unclear where he has been living since the start of the pandemic.

New York, and more specifically the New York City area, has been hit hard by the virus, accounting for nearly half of all confirmed cases in the country.

Late Saturday night, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a travel advisory for the New York tri-state area after President Trump announced the public health recommendations in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

On Thursday the NBA announced it will cut the salaries of top executives and commissioners by 20 percent to deal with the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
