The Senate’s long-term spending proposal would also restore the $1 billion House Republicans cut from community health centers in their long-term CR. Senate Democrats said the cuts would have eliminated funding for 127 clinics, including 5,000 health center jobs.
The Senate bill also includes funding for the White House’s healthcare and other policy “czars,” who House Republicans targeted in their CR.
“This would be an intrusive micromanagement of the president’s White House staff via Appropriations,” the Senate panel said.
The current spending bill lasts through March 18.
