Obama, Saudi king discuss ISIS threat

President Obama on Wednesday called Saudia Arabia’s King Abdullah to discuss the threat the Islamic State in Iraq and the Syria poses to that country and the surrounding region, the White House said. 
 
{mosads}The two leaders “reaffirmed the need for Iraq’s leaders to move expeditiously to form a new government capable of uniting all of Iraq’s diverse communities,” according to a White House readout of the call. 
 
During their telephone conversation, Obama also thanked the king for his country’s $500 million pledge to help alleviate the suffering of all Iraqis who have been affected by the violence in the country. 
 
Both leaders pledged to continuously discuss the developments in the region. 
 
The White House said Obama also offered “his best wishes” at the start of Ramadan.
