House panel rebukes Obama for vacant oversight job

{mosads}Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) vowed earlier this week to block all State Department nominees until Obama names an inspector general. The administration says it has identified a candidate whose name will be made public after the vetting process.

The panel also unanimously approved legislation from Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) that blocks non-humanitarian aid for Vietnam until it makes progress on political and religious prisoners. And it approved resolutions recognizing the U.S.-Jordan relationship and highlighting and seeking a resolution of the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
