Russia frees opposition leader after international outcry

{mosads}White House spokesman Jay Carney said the United States was “deeply disappointed and concerned” by the verdict.

“The numerous procedural shortcomings in this case also reinforce our broader concerns about rule of law in Russia,” he said. “We urge Russia to allow for a fair and impartial appeal of the verdict.”
