Nigerian jet accidentally bombs refugee camp, killing over 100
The Nigerian air force mistakenly bombed a refugee camp on Tuesday, officials said, reportedly killing over 100 civilians, including aid workers.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said that the air force was on a mission to “mop up” the insurgents of terrorist group Boko Haram when planes accidentally bombed the civilians.
“I received with regret news that the Air Force, working to mop up BH insurgents, accidentally bombed a civilian community in Rann, Borno State,” Buhari tweeted after the tragedy.
