Trump team won’t move embassy to Jerusalem quickly: report

President Donald Trump’s administration does not plan to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem quickly, according to a new report.

An MSNBC anchor, Ayman Mohyeldin, tweeted early Monday that sources told “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough that the president’s priority is a regional peace deal.

Scarborough retweeted the post.

{mosads}White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Sunday the administration was “at the very beginning stages of even discussing” moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The president on Sunday spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and invited him to the White House in early February.

Trump said his call was “very nice.”

According to a readout of the call from the White House, the leaders talked about “ways to advance and strengthen the U.S.-Israeli special relationship, and security and stability in the Middle East.”

Trump “emphasized the importance the United States places on our close military, intelligence, and security cooperation with Israel,” and the men agreed to continue to “closely consult” on various issues including “threats posed by Iran.”
