Iran nuclear report rekindles calls for sanctions

{mosads}The report says Iran has recently installed 1,000 advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges at Natanz and has once again refused access to Parchin, a suspected site of nuclear weaponization. On a positive note, the report concludes that the stock of uranium that can be further enriched to weapons-grade material only grew by 185.8 kilograms, a relatively small amount, and reveals that Iran told the IAEA that it would delay the commissioning of its Arak heavy-water reactor beyond its planned date of the first quarter of 2014.

The House voted overwhelmingly last month to tighten sanctions despite outreach from the Obama administration to Rouhani, a relative moderate. The Senate Banking Committee is expected to unveil legislation in September, a congressional source told The Hill.
