Cornyn: Bring Congress back for vote on Syria

{mosads}“Before any military action is taken in Syria, the president should call Congress back into session and ask for a vote on the authorization to use force,” Cornyn said in a statement.

His comments came prior to President Obama’s remarks at the White House on the situation in Syria, during which Obama said that the U.S. “should take military action against Syrian targets,” but that he would, in fact, seek congressional approval for such a strike.

Cornyn praised the president for his comments.

“POTUS is right to seek a vote of congress on military intervention in Syria,” he said in a tweet.
