Pakistan foils major terror attack planned for Easter

The Pakistan military says it has prevented a major terrorist attack planned for Easter after a successful overnight raid.

Pakistan’s military said the country’s security forces were able to foil a “major terrorist attack” by killing a militant and detaining one of his associates on Friday, the Associated Press reported.

The military said four soldiers were wounded during the raid that came hours after Christians celebrated Good Friday.

{mosads}AP noted that it was unclear which terrorist organization was planning the attack on Easter Sunday in Lahore.

In 2016, a suicide bomber took the lives of more than 70 people after detonating an explosive in a city’s park that was full of Christians and Muslims.
