Cuba is not happy with Trump’s changes to U.S. policy toward the island nation. Trump rolled back several changes that former President Obama’s had made in his second term that normalized diplomatic relations with Castro and eased restrictions on travel and trade between the two countries.
“The last two years have shown that the two countries can cooperate and coexist in a civilized way,” according to Castro.
The statement released through government-run media called for more “respectful dialogue” with the U.S., according to multiple reports.
