North Korea likens Trump’s UN speech to sound of a ‘dog barking’

North Korea’s top diplomat compared President Trump’s comments during a speech to the United Nations General Assembly to the “sound of a dog barking.”

“There is a saying that goes: ‘Even when dogs bark, the parade goes on,'” North Korea’s foreign minister, Ri Yong, told reporters late Wednesday at the U.N.’s headquarters in New York, USA Today reported.

“If [Trump] intended to scare us with the sound of a dog barking, then he is clearly dreaming.”

{mosads}Trump earlier this week threatened to use force against North Korea during a speech he gave to the U.N.

“Rocket Man is on a suicide mission for himself and for his regime,” Trump told the gathering of world leaders, using his new nickname for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. 

“No nation on Earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles,” he added.

“The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.”

Trump in recent months has intensified his rhetoric against North Korea. Earlier this year, he warned of “fire and fury” if Pyongyang continues threatening the U.S.
