Stabbing at French train station treated as terror attack

French authorities are treating the stabbing of two women at a train station in the city of Marseille on Sunday as a terror attack, according to CNN.

Two women were killed in the attack before military police killed the suspect at the Saint-Charles station, according to the report. 

Authorities are looking into whether the perpetrator had any ties to specific terror organizations. 

{mosads}The attack comes after a woman attacked four female Boston College students with acid at the same train station last month. 

French police said there was no reason to believe the acid attacks were linked to terror, according to CNN. 

French officials said they prevented an “imminent terror attack” in Marseille last April. 

Europe has been on alert over the past few years after a slew of terror attacks rocked the region. 

Multiple people were injured last month after a bomb went off at a London Underground station, in what was labeled a terror attack.
