Ugandan president praises Trump for his frankness: ‘Africans need to solve their problems’

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni is praising President Trump for his frankness.

“America has got one of the best presidents ever,” Museveni said during the opening of the East African Legislative Assembly in the Ugandan capital of Kampala, the BBC reported.

“I love Trump because he tells Africans frankly. The Africans need to solve their problems, the Africans are weak.”

{mosads}His comments come after Trump reportedly said during a meeting at the White House earlier this month certain nations, including some in Africa, were “shithole countries.”

Trump faced widespread backlash and accusations of racism after his reported comments.

Trump has pushed back against the reports of the comments and denied he is racist.

After reports of his comments surfaced, world leaders condemned the remarks.

The African Union demanded an apology from Trump over the comments, which were also condemned by a group of African ambassadors to the United Nations.
