A Syrian refugee living in Germany was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail for planning a car bomb attack.

Prosectors say Yamen planned an attack with a car bomb that was intended to kill or injure about “200 people.” The location of the attack was not disclosed.
German Interior Minister Thomas De Maiziere said “a serious attack has been prevented.”
Investigators say the man came to Germany from Syria in 2015 and was radicalized over the internet in the following years to become a supporter of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
