President Trump will reportedly meet with Prince Charles during a state visit to the United Kingdom next month.
CNN reported Monday that the two men will have an afternoon tea at Clarence House, the residence of the prince of Wales. The most likely date for the meeting is reportedly June 3.
It’s unclear which party requested the meeting, CNN reported.
{mosads}The White House declined to comment, and the prince’s office did not immediately responded to The Hill’s request for comment.
Charles, 70, is the heir apparent to the British throne as the oldest child of Queen Elizabeth II. The prince reportedly declined to meet with Trump during his first visit to the country as president last summer.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump are scheduled to travel to the United Kingdom for a state visit from June 3 to 5. The White House has already announced plans for the president to meet with the queen and Prime Minister Theresa May, who is set to attend a ceremony with Trump to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion.
The president’s previous visit was greeted with protests from thousands of people in London and elsewhere. Trump further stoked controversy when he gave an interview to the tabloid The Sun bashing May’s Brexit plan.
“I would have done it much differently,” Trump said at the time. “I actually told Theresa May how to do it, but she didn’t listen to me.”
