NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, who has made headlines with his frequent trips to North Korea, said Thursday that the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, will be visiting the U.S. within the next two years.
“Watch out for this: Kim Jong Un will be in America in 18 to 24 months, I guarantee you,” Rodman said on “Fox & Friends.” He’s coming to do one thing: visit America.”
{mosads}Rodman, who calls Kim “a friend for life,” made a trip to Singapore in June ahead of President Trump’s nuclear summit with the North Korean leader. Rodman later said the White House thanked him for his efforts.
In July, Trump, after making his historic visit to the Demilitarized Zone, said he invited Kim to come to America “when the time is right.”
Negotiations over North Korea’s nuclear program have largely stalled since then, though Trump regularly touts his “very good” relationship with Kim.
“I did have an impact on some of the things that have happened in North Korea,” Rodman said Thursday. “I think Donald Trump is doing a great job at trying to connect us.”
