France’s Macron hit with egg at trade fair near Lyon
French President Emmanuel Macron was hit with an egg while attending a convention near Lyon, three months after being slapped while visiting health care workers in the country’s southeast.
According Lyon magazine, Macron was walking through the aisles of the Eurexpo when an object was thrown at him and bounced off of his head.
Macron’s security then apprehended a young man who made a political gesture and shouted “vive la révolution,” handcuffing him at the scene, according to Lyon magazine.

The projectile appeared to be an egg that broke on the ground afterward.
Macron asked his team to interview the unidentified 20-year-old suspect to understand his motivations, Lyon magazine reported.
This is the second time in four months that the French president has been assaulted while on an official visit.
Video surfaced in June of a man slapping Macron across the face while he visited health care workers in the Drôme region of southeast France.
The man, since identified as Damien Tarel, 28, could be heard shouting “Montjoie, Saint-Denis! Down with Macronie” — an obscure medieval battle cry.
Tarel later told a court he was close to the anti-Macron yellow vest movement, according to the BBC. He was sentenced to 4 months in prison in June.
Macron, who has seen his generally low approval ratings tick upward recently, is expected to run for reelection in 2022, The Washington Post reported.
