A man was arrested on Saturday morning following a knife attack on a high-speed train in Germany.

Local police told The Associated Press that several people were injured during the attack, which took place as one of Germany’s high-speed ICE trains was traveling between Regensburg and Nuremberg.

“There has been an attack on an ICE (Intercity-Express) train and police shortly afterwards arrested a male person, and several people were injured,” an Oberpfalz police authority spokesman said of the incident, according to Reuters.

The Daily Bild reportedly said in its online edition that three people were injured in the train attack.

No information has been released on the attacker’s possible motives, but police told Reuters they do not believe any other attackers are at large.

Bavarian state police have been reported on the scene in Seubersdorf, which has been closed since 9 a.m., the AP reported.

The German railway network confirmed to the news outlet that train travel between Regensburg and Nuremberg has been suspended at this time.
