Trump to outline Middle East peace plan to Arab leaders at summit: report

President Trump reportedly intends to outline his Middle East peace plan to Arab leaders at a summit at Camp David in September, according to reports.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth on Wednesday said that White House adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner plans to invite the leaders to the conference during his visit to the region this week.

{mosads}The conference will occur before Israel’s Sept. 17 election, the newspaper reported, citing an unnamed source in Washington. The source believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was reportedly involved in the planning of the event, will not attend the conference in hopes that it encourages Arab leaders to attend.

Details on the summit were not made clear in the report, but the White House released details from the economic portion of the long-awaited Middle East peace proposal in June.

The administration has long discussed the crafting of a peace plan for the region, but its relations with Palestinian leadership have been particularly strained since the U.S. moved its Israeli embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Kushner is expected to travel to Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates during his visit this week.
