Putin: Trump ‘not my bride, and I’m not his groom’

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday refused to criticize President Trump when asked at a news conference if Trump is “naive,” according to The Associated Press.

Putin reportedly said Trump is “not my bride, and I’m not his groom.”

{mosads}Responding to a question about Trump’s potential impeachment, Putin said it is “absolutely wrong” for the Kremlin to talk about national United States politics, the AP added.

The comments come after Trump, who spoke of improving U.S.-Russian relations during his presidential campaign, last week ordered Russia to shutter a consulate in San Francisco and annexes in New York and Washington, D.C.

Moscow had earlier ordered the U.S. to cut diplomatic staffing in Russia in response to new sanctions signed by Trump and passed overwhelmingly by Congress.
