Russian hacking report could be released as soon as Friday
A declassified version of U.S. intelligence agencies’ report on Russian intervention in U.S. elections could be released as early as Friday afternoon, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told reporters.
“Later in the day, some of the report will be released to the public,” Pelosi said.
{mosads}She added that intelligence officials briefed her and other top lawmakers on their findings before traveling to New York to present the report to President-elect Donald Trump.
Pelosi called the presentation “stunning,” but indicated the public would not see the full findings of the U.S. intelligence community.
“This will be interesting in terms of what the disclosure is, of this report,” she said. “But suffice to say, it’s stunning in its conclusions, and you’ll see some of it.”
CNN and NBC also reported the public findings will be released as soon as Friday.
The National Security Council and Office of the Director of National Intelligence would not confirm the timing of the release.
On Thursday, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told lawmakers the declassified report would be made public “early next week.”
