Garbled Gingrich speaks on technology in politics

When asked about the conference’s theme “Can the Internet save politics?”, Gingrich said the Web could spur change, but the fundamental political structure would remain.

“The Internet can transform politics, but it will remain political. All primate species have political structures,” Gingrich said, suggesting that those interested study the hierarchy of chimpanzees at some point.

“But the fact is we have the ability to create a political framework, which is dramatically empowered and enhanced and provides access to every single person.”
