Users flee slow websites, have high expectations for mobile speeds
The survey also found that many users have a high expectation for how
quickly websites should load on their cell phones. Half of users expect
websites to load as quickly, almost as quickly or faster on their mobile
phone compared to their home computer.
The survey was conducted for Gomez by Equation Research. Gomez is
the Web-performance arm of Compuware, a software company.
The authors of the report drew the conclusion that this study shows why companies are interested in influencing the net-neutrality debate, since it suggests that faster sites have a competitive leg up.
The survey was
conducted from June 25 to 29, 2010, with 1,004 online respondents.
