Issa on Holder: Change or quit
Attorney General Eric Holder should either change his approach to major issues or leave the administration, according to Rep. Darrell Issa.
If Holder was unable to confront WikiLeaks on the basis of terrorism, he should have found another solution — for instance, confronting those involved as criminals, Issa (R-Calif.) said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“Otherwise the world is laughing at this paper tiger we’ve become,” said Issa, who will lead the House Oversight Committee in the next Congress.
Holder’s failure in this regard means he is hurting the administration, according to Issa.
“If you’re hurting the administration, either stop hurting the administration, or leave,” he said.
Issa called for a “mature, bipartisan” bill addressing WikiLeaks in the next Congress.
“And we’re going to do that right off the bat because the kind of transparency we need is not to have somebody outing what is said by diplomats in private,” he said.
