Utilities complain: Give us a say on emergency broadband

UTC President William Moroney said in a statement Monday: “A partnership between utilities and public safety will accelerate the deployment of these networks and promote interoperability between utilities and public safety during emergency response.”

Such coordination will help restore utility services faster during emergencies and lower the cost of public safety networks, “especially in the more rural parts of the country that have yet to see reliable cell service,” he said.

The meeting in question is scheduled for Tuesday.
