Journalist group says Utah is “darkest pit in the U.S.”
A source close to the Governor’s office told Hillicon Herbert is aware of the criticism of the law and shares concerns over how it passed through the legislature. They acknowledged the bill doesn’t reflect the original intent of the legislation and hasn’t been amended to account for new technologies.
The source said the Governor has pushed for the implementation date to be delayed until July 1 because he plans to convene a working group of stakeholders to address concerns over the bill.
Once the various concerns have been hashed out, the source said Herbert plans to convene a special session of the legislature to pass an amended version of the bill.
