MTV cancels racy teen drama ‘Skins’
The PTC also lobbied advertisers to ditch the show — the brunt of them quickly pulled their ads from that time slot, including a host of major brands such as Subway and Foot Locker.
In contrast, the U.K. version of the show was a success, and is heading into its sixth season.
PTC President Tim Winter said of the cancellation: “We are grateful to every member of the public who helped us drive an economic stake through the graphic content on the program, the likes of which never deserves to see the light of day again.”
