Apple co-founder tells followers to #FeelTheBern

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak gave a bit of a boost to presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in a tweet early Tuesday morning.

Wozniak, who co-founded the tech giant with the late Steve Jobs, urged followers to support the Vermont senator’s campaign, using “#FeelTheBern,” the signature hashtag of Sanders backers.

Sanders is an independent but caucuses with the Democrats in the Senate. He is also running for the Democratic nomination in 2016.

Clinton remains atop recent polls, but Sanders has gained ground since announcing his run.

Wozniak has donated to both sides in recent presidential elections but has leaned more toward Democrats. He donated a little more than $3,000 to president Obama’s first presidential campaign in 2008. He donated a few hundred dollars to Republican Ron Paul during the 2012 contest.

In 2004, he donated $2,000 each to the campaigns of John Kerry, the eventual Democratic nominee, and Howard Dean, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
