Dish looks to snag Clearwire from Sprint
{mosads}”Sprint does not intend to waive any of its rights and looks forward to closing the transaction with Clearwire and helping consumers across the country realize the benefits of this combination,” Sprint said.
In a statement, Clearwire said it would consider Dish’s offer, but noted that its ability to enter into new agreements is “significantly limited” by the Sprint deal.
Clearwire has struggled financially, but the company holds the rights to valuable blocks of wireless frequencies.
Dish Network is currently a satellite television provider, but the Federal Communications Commission approved its proposal to build an LTE cellphone network last month.
Sprint is currently in the process of being bought by Japanese firm Softbank.
