MPAA lobbyist to join National Music Publishers’ Association
Cylke’s first day at the NMPA will be Feb. 11.
{mosads}NMPA represents U.S. music publishers and songwriters in Washington and is focused on protecting music copyrights, among other matters. Cylke joins the NMPA after Allison Halataei, who served as the group’s vice president of government affairs, left the association to head back to the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month.
Prior to his work at the MPAA, Cylke was the director of congressional and public affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he helped lead a coalition of companies that pushed for the passage of the Pro-IP Act in 2008.
He has also held a series of leadership positions at the House Judiciary Committee, which oversees intellectual property issues such as online piracy and music royalties. Before Cylke left Judiciary to head to the U.S. Chamber in 2008, he had served as the senior legislative assistant and deputy parliamentarian at the committee.
