Anti-Trump protesters block Uber’s San Francisco headquarters

Anti-Trump protesters gathered outside Uber’s San Francisco headquarters on Friday to denounce the company’s ties to the new president.

Demonstrators linked arms and are blocking the entrance to the building, reports TechCrunch.

They are reportedly protesting Uber CEO Travis Kalanick’s decision to join Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum. Tesla CEO Elon Musk and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty area also members of the forum, which will advise President Trump on economic issues.

“As a company we’re committed to working with government on issues that affect riders, drivers and the cities where we operate. Just as we worked with the Obama Administration, we’ll work with the Trump Administration, too,” an Uber spokesperson said when asked about the protest.

Supporters on social media are hashtagging posts about the protests with #J20 and #120Hours. J20 is a larger national movement to disrupt Trump’s Inauguration Day. 120 Hours is a Bay Area protest focused on “rejecting the Trump agenda.”

Protests erupted nationwide Friday as Trump was sworn in as the country’s 45th president.

Police have reportedly arrested 14 people involved in the protest.
