Despite GOP criticism, TSA to hire 200 for Atlanta airport
House Transportation Chairman John Mica (R-Fla.) rarely misses a chance to needle the agency, which he helped create through legislation in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
He criticized them last week in a speech to the Washington Aero Club. Mica said the agency has sprawled to become “bigger than five government agencies” and is in need of reform.
“I envision TSA getting out of the personnel business,” he said.
TSA hopes to have the new employees at Hartsfield-Jackson in place next fall, according to reports.
