LaHood to push for jobs act in DC speech

{mosads}Obama has called for a $447 billion package that includes $50 billion in infrastructure spending and calls for the creation of a national infrastructure bank to lure financing for projects.

“We have work that needs doing. We have small businesses ready to do that work. And we have construction workers desperate to get back on the job repairing, replacing, and modernizing our roads, rails, and runways,” LaHood said this week of the president’s proposal on his Department of Transportation blog. “Let’s make it happen. Let’s pass the American Jobs Act.”

Tickets for LaHood’s speech are $18 for National Press Club members, $29 for guests of NPC members and $36 for general admission.
