Rep. Shuster taps new personal communications director

House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) has appointed a new personal communications director.

Shuster said Tuesday that he was tapping one of his senior legislative assistants, Sean Joyce, to replace his recently departed communications director Gretchen Gailey.

Gailey said last week that she was leaving Capitol Hill to work at a public relations firm in Alexandria, Va., called Blueprint Communications.

Shuster said Tuesday that Joyce was a logical replacement for the department spokeswoman.

{mosads}“Promoting Sean to my Communications Director was a no-brainer,” Shuster said in a statement. “Sean brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position, his district ties, legislative, and press experience will serve the people of the 9th district well.”

Joyce’s previous titles in Shuster’s office have been Senior Legislative Assistant, Legislative Assistant, Legislative Correspondent, and Staff Assistant.

He said in a statement that he was “honored” to receive the promotion from Shuster.

“Congressman Shuster is one of the most respected Members in Congress and I look forward to continue helping him represent his conservative values for Pennsylvania’s 9th District,” Joyce said.
