Senate vote due on infrastructure bank proposal

“Yes, we want [an] infrastructure bank; we love it; it is great,” Boxer said at July hearing of her committee. “That is not the core program. But we should build support for it, but it is not the core program.”
The infrastructure bank is the second piece of Obama’s proposed jobs act to be voted on piecemeal by the Senate. Last week, the chamber voted against a $35 billion funding package for teachers and first-responders.
Elsewhere this week, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s subcommittee on the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation will examine on Wednesday lessons learned from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Transportation subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Management will review on Friday a proposed federal courthouse in Los Angeles, Calif.
