Passenger locked in plane
A passenger on a United Airlines flight was locked in an airplane at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, USA Today reports.
Louisiana resident Tom Wagner was in Houston to connect to a flight to California, but he fell asleep on the first plane and was left on board after its passengers and crew disembarked.
Wagner woke up 30 minutes later to discover he was alone in a dark plane, the paper reported.
{mosads}Wagner said he was able to get off the plane because he called his girlfriend and told her he was trapped.
“She thought I was crazy,” he told Houston television station KTRK. “I said, ‘Debbie I’m locked on the plane.’ I said, ‘I’m telling you the truth; you better go somewhere and get me off this plane.’ “
The airline that was operating the flight for United, ExpressJet, said it was investigating the incident involving Wagner.
“ExpressJet is investigating to determine how this occurred. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused for the passenger,” the airline said in a statement that was provided to the paper.
