Toyota unveils hydrogen car
Japanese automaker Toyota unveiled a hydrogen-powered car at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Associated Press reports.
The company said the car, which uses fuel-cell technology and does not produce traditional emissions, could be available as early as 2015.
Toyota said the car will likely be priced between $50,000 and $100,000, according to the report.
The company said the hydrogen cars would be able to travel 300 miles between refueling.
Toyota CEO Bob Carter said he was confident enough alternative fueling stations will be built before the hydrogen cars are ready for mass consumption.
“This infrastructure thing is going to happen,” Carter said. “We don’t need a station on every corner.”
